Cocaine is a powerfully addictive stimulant drug. The powdered, hydrochloride salt form of cocaine can be snorted or dissolved in water and injected. Crack is cocaine that has been processed from cocaine hydrochloride to a free base for smoking. The term "crack" refers to the crackling sound heard when it is heated.  Both drugs are highly addictive and tolerance to its effects can be quickly built up, so the user must use more to achieve the same high.

Greater mental alertness
Increase in sensory stimulation


Potential Health Consequences
Nosebleeds
Problems swallowing
Bowel Gangrene
Strokes
Seizures
Paranoia
Restlessness, Violence
Increased blood pressure
Heart failure and Death
