Text Box: Heroin
Aka: Smack, H, Horse, Junk, Ska

Heroin is processed from morphine, a naturally occurring substance extracted from the seedpod of the Asian poppy plant. It generally takes the form of either a white or light brown powder and may be injected, snorted or smoked. Heroin, like Cocaine, may often be laced with additives and other impurities including sugar, baking soda or detergent. Heroin is intensely physically addictive, meaning that over time the body becomes used to the drug and can no longer function without. Withdrawal can be painful, with symptoms including muscle and bone aches, nausea, insomnia, muscle spasms and diarrhea.
