Text Box: Hallucinogens

Hallucinogens (including LSD and Psilocybin Mushrooms) work by disrupting the interactions between nerve cells and the chemical Serotonin, causing unpredictable changes in the user’s perception of their environment. Under the influence of hallucinogens, people see images, hear sounds, and feel sensations that seem real but do not exist, and may be pleasurable or disturbing. Some hallucinogens also produce rapid, intense emotional swings.
