McLeod Academy, in conjunction with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department and Mecklenburg County Court System, serves as an alternative to incarceration for individuals who have been arrested for prostitution.   McLeod Academy is an intensive program that incorporates McLeod Center’s Outpatient Program or Residential Treatment Programs in conjunction with extensive Life Skills training.
Individuals in McLeod Academy are eligible for housing opportunities and participate in the development of life skills, prevention of the spread of communicable diseases, and cognitive behavior intervention. The program goal is to teach needed skills to the client while providing intensive addiction treatment to promote a healthy and crime-free lifestyle.

Clients are also eligible for Community Support, which can help secure housing, job opportunities and other resources for continued recovery.

McLeod Academy Programming Includes:

Addiction treatment using the 12-Step Program
HIV Testing and therapy
Life skills, including parenting, managing a budget, nutrition and basic healthcare
Identifying behavior consequences and accepting responsibility
