Text Box: CBI—Cognitive Behavior Intervention

Cognitive Behavioral Intervention (CBI) is a twelve hour program that focuses on improving decision making skills, conflict resolution and anger management. Participants will look for new ways to address future problems that will help a person make better choices and avoid negative consequences. The Cognitive-Behavioral program is designed to help clients accept responsibility for actions and behaviors in order to initiate changes in behavior.

Clients are referred to the CBI program through the court system or probation due to legal charges. McLeod Center’s CBI Program consists of one 2-hour class a week for 6 weeks.

Identifying Thoughts, Feelings, Attitudes, Values and Beliefs
Communication– Identifying & Responding to the Feelings of Others
Decision Making
Problem Solving
Choices & Consequences
Initiating Change
Accepting Responsibility
